Linky Party #3 for the Ultimate Quilting Challenge 2016

September Finish.
My daughter Kelley gave me this beautiful vintage linen this past Christmas.
I wanted to use FMQ to enhance the awesome embroidery.

I used a Sue Nickels heart design for the trapunto in the center.
The Cindy Needham Ultimate Background stencils were used
to make the orange peel and clamshells.
I used the background stencils to mark one spine on the outer sash feathers.
I stitched that spine and then free motion quilted
the echoing spine and the feathers.
The free motion quilted micro stippling, clustered pansies,
swirls and feathers achieved some nice background quilting.

I used the Ultimate stencils to make registration lines
for the Sue Heinz inspired hearts and half hearts.

Thanks so much to Darlene at QuiltShopGal.
Her blog has been so inspirational to me as I learn how to FMQ.
I'll be linking this post to the Linky Party #3 on her blog
