Here's a mini wall hanging (about 6X10") with a beach bicycle I made for Amanda for her 29th birthday. It matches her new bicycle she'll be using in San Diego. I did surface embroidery, used my Derwent watercolor pencils set with textile medium and FMQ ruler cross-hatching.

  1. This is sew sweet and I adore how you have done it. I have never used my Derwent watercolor pencils for fabric and stitchery. Do you have any tips? Creative Bliss...

  2. Thanks for the sweet comment. I love adding that touch of color with the pencils. It seems easier than using crayons. I like to add the color dry rather that wet for a more subtle intensity of color. I set the color with Textile Medium, the kind you add to acrylics to paint on fabric.
