Quilt Shop Gal FMQ challenge - Pumpkins

New pillow with trapunto pillow

Original pumpkin I made for the October, 2015 Lori Kennedy challenge.
I used insulbrite for one of the layers, so it's a useful hot pad every Thanksgiving.

..
It's time to link up some UFO's for Q3 of the 2017 Finish-a-long.

First up is a Fat Quarter Shop 2015 charity BOM for St. Judes Hospital.
The plan is to finish the quilting in time for a charity quilt sale in August for LLQG , Wolfboro, NH. 25% will go to David's House and 75% to St. Judes.

This is sea life wholecloth ready to trapunto and FMQ.
The machine appliques have been detailed with some thread sketching
before doing the trapunto.
This is a table topper for a round pub table.

This is a small wholecloth to practice ideas from Patsy Thomson's Craftsy class.
I think I'll finish two so I can see the threads better on the lighter batik.

I'm still designing this challenge quilt for the Cocheco Quilters.
I started redrawing and picking out the owl for a different background.
We'll see; it has to be done by August.

Two projects due in August and two by October.
Cataract surgery July 27 and August 3rd.
YIKES!

Q2 UFO's for the 2017FAL

Four placemats ~ machine pieced, appliqued and quilted ~ ready for the bindings.

I have traced my daughter's original art.
Next I will thread sketch with black 40 wt poly,
embroider the rose touches of color,
use my Derwent InkTense pencils to add the other touches of color.

This is a practice piece I did of one of her sketches
trying out different thread weights and color medium.

Fig Tree's postage stamp from Q1. I finished the piecing and applique.
Next to finish the embroidery, quilting and binding.

I'm linking this post to the Quarter 2 of 2017 Finish-A-Long.

Update to QuiltShopGal Precision Challenge

I started with some tiny 2 inch blocks.

Saw my inspiration on my log cabin's wall.
That's my scrappy version of the online sampler quilt from Bee in My Bonnet
using Lori Holt's Quilty Fun book.

I modified the flower block to place the mini blocks en point. I love them:)

Aurifil February 2017 BOM

This block is Dutch Treat by Maureen Cracknell.
It's the February block for Aurifil's 2017 BOM.
I made four scrappy versions for a special project I'm working on that involves painting on fabric with InkTense Pencils, Derwent watercolor pencils and thread sketching.

I'm linking up to Pat Sloan's linky for the Aurifil blocks

Scraptastic Tuesday  I'm linking this post to Scraptastic Tuesday. This Aurifil block was the perfect scrap buster. I've made four blocks so far:)

Precision Piecing with QuiltShopGal

These little 2 inch (1 1/2 inch finished) blocks are kind of addictive.
I've made three so far. I'm going to make some flower blocks from Lori Holt's
book Quilty Fun ~ they have a 1.5 inch center.
I'm linking up to QuiltShopGal. I have so much fun doing these challenges.

#2017FALQ1

Here's my list for Quarter 1.

This cute hexi wall art.
I love the embroidery and the small buttons used as flowers.
The hexies are ready to be glued, turned and connected.
Then I can add the embroidery and a little quilting.

I need to finish a baby quilt for a dear friend of my youngest daughter.
Still some more work on adding the appliques.
The quilt is from the book Animal Parade by Cheri Leffler.

I purchased this Fig Tree stamp wall hanging in December to add to
two others I have made. The wall hanging here will show the color
scheme I'll be using. I can't wait to use my Appliquick tools to
make the tinier pieces this time around.

I'm linking up with the Quarter 1 finish along for 2017
